About Untangli
Some of questions that we have been asked about Untangli with an insight of the services provided.

Untangli is a digital and business operations business for solo founders and small business owners. It helps you get the behind-the-scenes side of your business properly sorted such your digital setup, your day-to-day operations, and your business admin. And that means you can spend more time on the work you actually want to be doing.
It is a fractional service, which means the founder, Ahmed Khalifa, works with a small number of clients on an ongoing monthly basis, rather than being employed full-time by one organisation.
Broadly speaking, it is for solo founders and micro-business owners who are brilliant at what they do but are not keeping on top of the operational side of the business. The people who tend to find it most useful are digitally present but not particularly technically confident, working alone or with a small group of freelancers, and running businesses that have grown without ever being properly set up underneath.
If you are a small business owner with less than 50 members of staff, content creator, a consultant, a coach, etc. who has let the admin build up, there is a good chance Untangli is worth a conversation.
For a more detailed picture of who gets the most value from this, the pages “Why we would work well together” and “Why we would not work well together” are worth reading before you book anything.
Untangli is based in Edinburgh, UK and operates remotely. There are no in-person requirements but should an opportunity arise to do so, it would be a great chance to connect.
Ahmed has 15 years of experience across digital marketing :covering SEO, analytics, content marketing, conversion rate optimisation, and web platform management, across both in-house and consultancy roles. He has also run businesses, including this one.
That background means he can talk to the creative side of what you do as well as the technical and operational infrastructure behind it. He does not need things explained to him and he will understand your predicaments.
You can find Ahmed on LinkedIn here.
No. Ahmed is not a qualified accountant and Untangli is not an accounting or bookkeeping service. What he can do is help you get financially organised: setting up an expense tracking tool, getting an invoicing system in place, separating your business and personal accounts, and flagging when something looks like it needs proper professional attention.
Think of it as building the structure that makes working with an accountant much easier and less painful.
Not in the traditional sense. Ahmed understands digital infrastructure well, domains, DNS, email setup, SSL certificates, hosting platforms, uptime monitoring, but Untangli is not an IT support service or a managed service provider. He is not maintaining servers, patching software, or running a technical helpdesk.
He ensures the right systems are in place, flags when something needs attention, and helps you make sensible decisions about your digital setup. Advisory and oversight, not technical operations.
But if you need a new website built or any custom development work done, is outside what Untangli offers. He will tell you that clearly rather than take on something he cannot do well.
About the Service
More detailed questions about the services provided by Untangli.
It covers the stuff that keeps your business running properly in the background. That includes your digital infrastructure (domains, professional email, website health), your operational systems (how you manage projects, tasks, and priorities), your business hygiene (invoicing, expenses, compliance basics), and general admin support.
There will also be areas that focuses on creating the right systems and processes in place that allows your business to operate smoothly. This tends to be done using digital platforms.
Every engagement starts with a discovery call. This is where Ahmed audits your current situation, identifies what needs fixing, and gets the right foundations in place. Once that is done, you move into a monthly retainer that covers ongoing management and maintenance.
The depth of ongoing involvement depends on the tier, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum, each covering a different level of recurring support. A monthly check-in and digital health monitoring is the starting point; a fully managed operational partnership with fortnightly reviews is the other end of the scale.
A VA typically handles task execution: responding to emails, booking things, doing admin on request. Untangli is more of an operational partner. Ahmed is not waiting for a task list. He is actively managing, monitoring, flagging, and advising on the operational health of your business. The approach is more strategic and more proactive.
The primary model is a monthly retainer to ensure ongoing stability, improvements and peace of mind to give you more time and headspace to run and grow your business.
Currently the pipeline leans towards solo founders, small businesses, creators, and content-led businesses, especially those with less than 50 members of staff. But Untangli is not limited to that world. The problems it solves are common across sectors.
The key is not what industry you are in but what situation you are in: growing steadily, slightly chaotic behind the scenes, not enough time for the operational side, and looking for someone to sort it rather than someone to explain it to.
That said are not suitable for bigger and enterprise-sized organisations that have hundreds of team members.
Rather than trying to answer that here, there are two dedicated pages built to help you work it out quickly. “Is Untangli the right fit for you” covers the characteristics, situations, and expectations that tend to make this kind of relationship really work.
“Why Untangli might not be the right fit for you” is equally honest about the situations where Untangli is probably not the right call.
They are designed to save you time before a discovery call, not to gate-keep. Reading them first means that if we do speak, we can get to the useful part faster.
The first step is to book a discovery call. This will consist of a short conversation to understand where you are, what is causing the most friction, and whether there is a clear fit. If it makes sense to proceed, Ahmed will send across a proposal with a recommended tier based on your specific situation.

Working together
Pricing is structured as a fixed monthly retainer, not an hourly rate. There are four tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum, each covering a defined set of recurring tasks.
You can explore the pricing tiers here.
No. You will get a set cost per month that will keep things predictable and easier to manage.
No. Untangli does not offer hourly billing. A fixed monthly retainer makes the engagement more predictable for both sides and keeps the focus on value and outcomes rather than time. If the retainer model does not suit your situation right now, Untangli is probably not the right fit at this stage.
Ahmed uses Notion for project management and task tracking on his side and Slack for async communications. Beyond that, he adapts to whatever platforms a client is already using or helps them move to whatever makes most sense for their situation.
He is not locked into one ecosystem and will not try to push a particular tool unless it genuinely makes sense for you.
It will be flagged, not silently absorbed. Depending on what it is, the options are usually moving to a higher tier, adding it as a monthly add-on, or scoping it as a separate project. The priority is keeping things clear on both sides rather than letting ambiguity build up.
Retainers work on a monthly basis with no minimum commitments, though we do ask to remain for at least three months to start seeing progresses being made.

Start with a discovery call. You show me the mess, I tell you what it’d take to untangle it. No obligation.
